Fall 2011 Growth Groups

Sunday, September 18, 2011

Growth groups are back and this fall we’re going to try having several groups meet Sunday morning during our Sunday School hour. Small groups like these are a good setting to connect with people and learn together. The groups begin Sunday, October 2.

GROUPS FOR WOMEN

A Woman after God’s Own Heart

Group 1—Sundays at 9 a.m. with Anna Matecun in Fellowship Room

Group 2—Wednesdays at 6 p.m. with Jan Thorn (starts Oct 5) in Fellowship Room

In this video series, Elizabeth George shares how a woman can follow God and seek His heart in every area of her life: her husband, her children, her home, her walk with the Lord, and her ministry.

GROUPS FOR MEN

The Measure of a Man

Sundays at 9 a.m. with Dave Foster in Room 203

This group will discuss Gene Getz’s book The Measure of a Man that unfolds 20 practical guidelines for true masculinity from Paul’s letters to Timothy and Titus.

GROUPS FOR ANYONE

The Prodigal God

Sundays at 9 a.m. with Brian Matecun in Sanctuary

In this Bible study and video series, Timothy Keller opens your eyes to the powerful message of Jesus’ best-known—and least understood—parable. The Prodigal God is a revelation of the very heart of the gospel: God’s radical love for sinners of every kind.

Be Amazed (The Minor Prophets)

Sundays at 9 a.m. with David Pelyhes in Sanctuary

The books of Hosea, Joel, Jonah, Nahum, Habakkuk, and Malachi are viewed by Biblical scholars as the Minor Prophets. Yet the insights and messages contained within these books are anything but minor. These prophets offer a unique, firsthand view of an all-powerful God who longs to intimately connect with His people. This study examines their personal stories to discover how He interacts with our world in truly amazing ways.

Foundations of Spiritual Life

Sundays at 9 a.m. with Bryan Craddock in Room 201 (Library)

This group is an ideal way to get better acquainted with Calvary East and learn the foundational beliefs and practices needed to help you develop a strong spiritual life. It is required for those who want to become a member of our church family.
