As you know, our nation, state, and communities have been adjusting to the Coronavirus spread. We are going to be adjusting too. We are cancelling our Wednesday meeting, as well as Sunday school, this week. As for next week and beyond, I will update you as we get closer. However, our youth leaders and I want to stay connected with your kids, and encourage their connection with each other, through this time. To promote health and safety for everyone, we will be pursuing online methods of staying connected as a youth group. Here’s what that will look like.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m., I will be going live on Facebook with a game and message through the Neon Youth page (facebook.com/neonyouth). I’ll be continuing in the Lord’s Prayer as planned. This will be watchable on phones, tablets, and computers. Facebook provides the simplest platform to do live videos. I know that not all of your kids have an account, but many of you do. In order for us to reach as many kids as possible, I’d like to encourage you to either (1) have your kids create an account, or (2) let them use your account to watch the videos. If you don’t have an account, I’d also encourage you to make one so that you and your kids can stay connected. You’re welcome to watch as a family, of course!
Our youth leaders and I would also like to stay connected with your kids on an individual level. We’d love to be able to text/call/email each student periodically while in-person meetings aren’t happening.
I know this is a lot, but I trust that God can, and will, continue to work through this crazy time. I’m asking for your partnership as we try to continue ministering to your kids. If you have any questions or clarifications, please let me know.
