2 Corinthians 4:1-18 ESV

Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you. 13 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Carry My Soul

Verse 1

I wanna hear You say well done
I wanna be welcomed in
I wanna feel Your love like sunshine
On my resurrected skin
I wanna hear the music play
I wanna hear the trumpet sound
I wanna hear You call my name
And watch my feet
Lift off the ground

Chorus

I will run oh and I won’t quit
Chasing Your heart just like David did
I’ll come running through the gates
Look into Your face oh I can hardly wait
Until You carry my soul carry my soul away

Verse 2

When ev’rything is said and done
And death has met its end
I wanna hear You call me son
Be counted as a faithful friend
I wanna see Your eyes like fire
I wanna see the scars that bled
Oh won’t You take me higher
The place where angels fear to tread

Bridge

And I will keep my lamplight burning in the night
I’ll be waiting here for You watching for all Your signs
If I may be so bold to ask You, would You lend Your ear to me
Oh Lord, come quickly

Altogether Good

Verse 1

How could we recount the ways
That You have multiplied our faith
The wisdom of Your ways
The currents of Your grace
Expressed in every moment, every wave

Chorus

In the longing of our souls
In the darkness where we go
You are there, You are love
You are altogether good
In the weakness of our faith
In the silence where we wait
You are here, You’re enough
You are altogether good

Verse 2

Through our joys and in our griefs
You have led us to believe
The wisdom of Your ways
The currents of Your grace,
Express our only hope for all our days

Bridge

I love You, Lord. I love You, Lord.
You are my more. Wholly present and pure

Better Is One Day

Verse 1

How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty
For my soul longs and even faints for You
For here my heart is satisfied within Your presence
I sing beneath the shadow of Your wings

Chorus

Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

Verse 2

One thing I ask and I would seek to see Your beauty
To find You in the place your glory dwells
(Repeat)

Bridge

My heart and flesh cry out for You, the living God
Your Spirit’s water to my soul
I’ve tasted and I’ve seen, come once again to me
I will draw near to You, I will draw near to You

I Have A Shelter

Verse 1

I have a shelter in the storm when troubles pour upon me
Though fears are rising like a flood my soul can rest securely
Oh Jesus, I will hide in You, my place of peace and solace
No trial is deeper than Your love that comforts all my sorrows

Verse 2

I have a shelter in the storm when all my sins accuse me
Though justice charges me with guilt, your grace will not refuse me
Oh Jesus, I will hide in You who bore my condemnation
I find my refuge in Your wounds for there I find salvation

Verse 3

I have a shelter in the storm when constant winds would break me
For in my weakness I have learned Your strength will not forsake me
Oh Jesus, I will hide in You, the One who bears my burdens
With faithful hands that cannot fail You’ll bring me home to Heaven

Psalm 61 ESV

1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. Of David.

Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer;
2 from the end of the earth
I call to you when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,
3 for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
4 Let me dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!
Selah
5 For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Prolong the life of the king;
may his years endure to all generations!
7 May he be enthroned forever before God;
appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
8 So will I ever sing praises to your name,
as I perform my vows day after day.

Psalm 62 ESV

1 To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress;
I shall not be greatly shaken.
3 How long will all of you attack a man to batter him,
like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
4 They only plan to thrust him down from his high position.
They take pleasure in falsehood.
They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse.
Selah
5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress;
I shall not be shaken.
7 On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
Selah
9 Those of low estate are but a breath;
those of high estate are a delusion;
in the balances they go up;
they are together lighter than a breath.
10 Put no trust in extortion;
set no vain hopes on robbery;
if riches increase, set not your heart on them.
11 Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this:
that power belongs to God,
12 and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
For you will render to a man according to his work.

Oh God

Verse 1

In the valley, oh God, You’re near
In the quiet, oh God, You’re near
In the shadow, oh God, You’re near
At my breaking, oh God, You’re near

Chorus

Oh God, You never leave my side
Your love stands firm through all my life

Verse 2

In my searching, oh God, You’re near
In my wandering, oh God, You’re near
When I feel alone, oh God, You’re near
At my lowest, oh God, You’re near

Bridge

Height nor depth nor anything else could pull us apart,
we are joined as one by Your blood
Hope will rise as we become more than conquerors
Through the One who loved the world
