Ever feel as if your life is under siege? We are often beset by trials and temptations. We also face a wearisome onslaught of false ideologies that contradict biblical morality and values. How should we respond as our faith is tested?

The prophet Isaiah answered this question for King Hezekiah and the people of Judah. After conquering the northern kingdom of Israel, the armies of the Assyrian Empire proceeded south to lay siege to Jerusalem. As they attacked with arrows and swords, they also sought to undermine the people’s faith in the Lord. Isaiah 28-39 records God’s message to them and Hezekiah’s response.
